When a pool temperature is warmer, it provides less friction for the swimmers, thus, slowing the body of the swimmer to perform at its maximum endurance without causing shocks and risks to the system.

The more the aerobic the activity is, the lower the air temperature needs to be. Hence, this pool temperature is also ideal for adult aerobic lap swimming and high intensity vertical water drills.

For programs such as water fitness and general aquatic programming, the most comfortable and ideal swimming pool temperature is between 83 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit (28 to 30 degree Celsius). This allows the body to respond normally at the start of the exercise and the increase in body temperature.

This range in water temperature is also ideal for aquatic therapy for arthritis. Exercising in the warmer water gives the added benefit of soothing sore joints. This is also best for prenatal exercises.
